Welcome to The Prudent Patron Re-launch Party!!!

Welcome to The Prudent Patron Re-launch Party!!!

I am so excited to finally be able to show you the newly redesigned Prudent Patron.  This has been my labor of love for the last several months. I don’t think I can ever say it is “done” because there are always new ideas in the works. I could probably have easily worked on it another few months, but I just couldn’t keep it to myself anymore!

As you can see, we have an updated look. A big thanks to the beautiful graphic designs of  Shana Praet. Shana ran with all my crazy visions and made them a better reality than I could have ever dreamed!

We also have an incredible new navigation bar! This is my favorite new feature of the site. The team at JND Consulting Group not only put all the pieces of our site together, but they managed to take all the topics that we love to talk about here at The Prudent Patron and organize them into one easily navigated bar. I encourage you to play around with it and see where all your favorite stores and posts are located!

In addition to the upgraded graphics and navigation, we have two brand new features. I have been sneaking over to the new site and using them all week, so I hope you find them as useful as I do!

The first new feature is our Coupon Database!

Each week I match up the store sales with their matching coupons, but sometimes you need to buy something that is not on sale and it would sure be nice to have a coupon to go with that purchase. Now you can simply look up the product in the Coupon Database and find every available matching coupon! If the coupon is from an insert like Smart Source, the database will tell you exactly in which insert you can find it. If there is a printable coupon, you will be able to print it right from the database! There are even coupons listed from store booklets, manufacturer websites and all of our favorite magazines!

The second new feature is a set of Savings Calculators!

We have created three new calculators! The first one is something many of you have been requesting,  a  % Of Savings Calculator! Now you can easily calculate what percentage you saved on your shopping trip! Just enter the shelf cost (regular price), the amount you saved, then hit calculate and it will tell you what percentage you saved on your shop!

There is also a Saving for My Goal Calculator. We all know it helps to set savings goals. Maybe you are saving up for a family vacation, Christmas gifts or a new pair of shoes! Just insert how much you need to save, when you need to reach your goal and the calculator will tell you exactly how much you need to save each month to reach that goal!

The final calculator is a Mortgage Payoff Calculator. For this calculator, you will need to enter some basic information about your current mortgage. The calculator will help you determine how much additional payment you will need to make to pay off your mortgage early and how much interest you will save! I have really enjoyed using this calculator because paying off our mortgage early has been a long held dream of ours.

You can find all of  these calculators on the bottom, right hand side of the blog.

Now on to today’s celebration…

Mixed in with all the regular Thursday posts there will be lot of giveaways! Many of our favorite companies are joining us in today’s celebration and sponsoring some fantastic prizes!  One of these giveaways will award prizes to the first 100 entries, so be sure to keep an eye out!

Last, but not least, I need to ask for your patience over the next couple of days. As hard as we worked to have everything up and running for today’s celebration, it is inevitable that there will some kinks in the process.  I hope everything will go off without a hitch, but it would not be unusual to find a couple of broken links, some temporary slow downs of the site  or some glitches as we transfer the email subscription and RSS feed. If you find an issue and you want to shoot over a quick email, you can do so easily from the new contact page, but rest assured we will be working hard to keep things running smoothly.

Thank you for reading The Prudent Patron -without you none of this would be possible!
