I’m happy to report that I’m here with you today because I almost wasn’t. Last night I was in a terrible car accident. The kind of accident that people try to cheer you up by saying at least everyone survived. Without getting into all the horrifying details that I can’t seem to shake from my brain, we were hit very hard on the side and went spinning, the car came up on two tires and nearly flipped over.
Thankfully everyone was wearing their seat belt. My passenger and I are banged up, but overall we are o.k. The trauma is worse than the pain right now. I have tried my best to get the images and the what ifs out of my mind, but I can not shake them. Where’s Will Smith and his Men in Black mind eraser when you really need him?
There is no official word yet, but it looks like my car is totaled. It was fully paid for and I had planned to drive it for at least another 5 years so that we could pay off our house early, but I guess things don’t always go as we plan. It was the best car I ever owned. I never had one problem with it, and I’m pretty sure it had a lot to do with us walking away from the accident in one piece, so a big shout out to Ford.
There will be some doctors appointments, insurance adjusters and car shopping in my immediate future, but as I said at the start, right now I am just grateful I am sitting here to type this, and that no one was seriously injured. Life can truly turn on a dime, so take some time to appreciate your loved ones today, and give them an extra hug for me.

I’m glad everyone is okay.
Glad you are all right.
Well said! Get better
Thank Goodness everyone was ok! Don’t worry over time the trauma of it will lessen. As for the idea of paying off the house first – well as the old saying goes – Best Laid Plans . . .
I am so glad you’re ok! Be sure to take some time for yourself to relax. I’ve been reading about Epsom salts and the amazing effects on the body. It was suggested I soak in epsom salts for body pain and it really does help. Try a nice warm bath to soak away some of the pain and stiffness.
Hugs!
Im so happy you are ok.
I can only say that I empathize with where you are. I will be praying for you all. Thank you for all of your posts and help, I’m sure God will take the bad that has happened and use it for good. I’ll be looking forward to the good news that is sure to come from this. I’m thanking Him in advance. God Bless you.

Thanking God with you that it wasn’t worse. Give yourself time to grieve over what happened. Time is a great healer, not only for our bodies but for our hearts.
Scary! praying for a speedy recovery!
Prayers of peace and healing go up for you. I’m grateful that you survived to tell the story.
Thanks to God! Praying for peace. It is hard to imagine the what ifs – try not to. Take the family out to the park. Have some fun. Try to leave your worrying to God, he is much better able to handle it than you are.
So glad your ok ! Positive things are going to get better !
thank you for sharing your story. glad you are ok.
I’m glad to hear that everyone is okay. It must have been bad if they consider your vehicle to be totalled, since I know it’s not a small vehicle.
Oh my goodness! Sorry for the accident but I sure am happy you are all relatively ok
Thank-you for the reminder. Keep us posted on your condition and your car shopping progress!
Hi Brittany, wow, that was not the post I was expecting when I logged on this morning. I am happy you and yours are okay. You have become an everyday part of my life, helping me and my family save and get the best deals. I never even imagined for a moment that one day I might log on and find you not here. You are right though, out lives can turn on a dime and we need to appreciate every moment. You had an angel on your shoulder last night.
Wow glad your ok.
Brittany, we are so glad that you are physically OK! PLease take care of yourself and let us know if you need anything!
Glad to hear you’re okay, physically. Mentally, it will take some time. I went through a bad accident years ago, with my kids. You honestly need to find someone to talk to, that will listen. My husband wasn’t in the truck when we were hit, so he never quite understood how if affected me. All the questions and fears. It will subside. So glad you’re okay though. That’s the most important part.
Brit, I am sorry to hear about your accident, my prayers of Thanks that you are physically okay, and prayers for peace and time to mentally recover!
Brittany, I can empathize. I was involved in a horrific accident 6 yrs ago. Im still in awe that I’m alive and eternally grateful to God.So glad that youre ok. I pray that your physical and emotional wounds heal sooner rather than later. Be well.

SO glad that you are ok! Praying for you as you have a busy and trying week ahead but thanking God that you and your friend are safe:)
I have unfortunately been in a number of serious accidents that I pretty much walked away from. It is horrifying and scary when you think of the what ifs…it will take some time for those thoughts to go away and the fear to subside. Just tell yourself whenever you find yourself reverting to that thinking, that those thoughts are of a future that did not happen and it does no good to sit and think about them. Instead, surround yourself with support and just remind yourself of how wonderful life is and that you are glad you are still around to enjoy it. I am sending out positive thoughts and comfort your way…
Thank God you all are ok..
thank goodness you are OK!!
My thoughts are with you

Words can’t express what I am feeling for you right now. The emotional and mental scars that tragedy leaves are sometime the deepest and hardest to heal. Take care of yourself.
The advantages of the internet, is you may find access to support for Post Traumatic Stress.
Sending positive thoughts to you!
So glad you and your passenger are okay. It must have been so terrifying. Healing thoughts and prayers going your way!
Wishing you a speedy physical and emotional recovery. Thanks for the reminder that every moment is precious…
I guess the angels were riding with you.
I never connet on any page. I thank you for your page it really helps me and my family, so in a secret way that is what you are, FAMILY!!. I cant stop the tears from comming. I am very happy to know that you and your are okay. I know how hard it is to shake it off, but time will pass and it is the best medecine… Prayes your way…
I’m so glad to know that you and your passenger are physically ok. Getting past the trauma is not always easy to do. If the images don’t subside in a few days, maybe it istime to seek some professional help to get through it. Sometimes “talk therapy” really does work. I hope that you are able to get another vehicle soon and that you can afford those payments. May God Bless you and continue to keep you in his loving care.
So glad you’re okay! What a difficult time to go through. I’m so sorry to hear about your car — hope you can find something wonderful to replace it. We’re so glad you’re still here! You have lots of people thinking about you and praying for you.
So glad you are ok. God had his hand in you. Take care and rest up. Don’t worry about the car and house you are more important.
Wow, so glad you are ok! Thank you, Lord.
So glad you are both OK !!! Scary stuff !!!! Take care & rest up for a while, will send prayers your way — thanks for all you do !!!!!
I thank the Lord that you are Ok. I will pray that He would calm your heart and give you His peace that surpasses all understanding. Take care.
Very scary. I’m glad you are ok.
I had a crash like that in 2009. Its life changing. Nobody really understands until they go through it. I almost lost my life and I am forever grateful for more days with my boys. Im so happy that you guys were not seriously hurt. I will pray for you and your passenger.
Glad you’re okay! I understand the trama. My husband and I were hit head on by a drunk driver a few years back. The other driver had just pulled out of the parking lot of the bar so he wasn’t going too fast but our car was still totalled (we also got rear-ended by the person who had been driving too close behind us). Hope those images get out of your mind soon. I remember waking up in the middle of the night for months afterwards in a panic because I could “smell” the accident. The smell of all the car fluids haunted me for a while. The best thing for me was just to get back to a “normal” routine. Praying you find that soon
Our car, with us in it, was side-swiped by a tour bus 2 weeks ago. We spoke with a lawyer the other day. Best decision we made so far. She explained our insurance benefits & pointed out we can see a chiropractor with our auto policy, though our Tricare primary won’t cover it. The insurance company is in it to make money, not to care for you. YOU need an advocate for you! Just a suggestion. I hope you feel better soon. I’m having nightmares about buses. I’m fearful of large vehicles on the road now. You’re not alone!
I’m glad that everyone involved in the accident is OK! Thank God for it!
