I am so nervous excited to share this with all of you. I did my first video blog with me in front of the camera!

You might remember a few months ago I felt overwhelmed with keeping up with my Walgreens Register Rewards so I decided to spend them all and take a much needed break from Walgreens. Over the holidays, I did not shop at Walgreens at all! It was then that I realized how much I hated keeping track of those Register Rewards. The short expiration dates had me constantly rushing around at the last minute trying to spend them before they expired. I’ve decided to take a new approach to Walgreens. When I planned my trip this week, I set up my transactions in such a way as to save as much money as possible and use all my Register Rewards while I was there. This way I don’t have to keep track of the Register Rewards and if I don’t want to shop at Walgreens in the next two weeks I don’t have to!

I  spent $6.59 at Walgreens this week and I saved $117.27! That is a 95% savings! You can see exactly what I purchased and how I did it here in my video! Please let me know what you think, but be gentle..I was nervous!

Thank you SO much! I've been ready to swear off Walgreen's because of the hassle and shop exclusively at CVS, but you may have just changed my mind.
Great video! Thanks again!

You are adorable! It is fun to match a face and voice with a website!

Wow, thanks for this! I almost never go to Walgreens because I don't want to go through the hassle of Register Rewards and their confusing coupon policy. This is a great idea and I am going to use your tactic next time I shop there!

Wow! That's impressive! But it sounds so exhausting. Especially when shopping with small children.

I use my RR to purchase Sunday newspapers or eggs during my final transaction so I am not stuck with RRs. Just another option.

So being new to this…. Bear with me please… So when I have three transactions you have to have it wrung up three different times in one visit correct? So do you ever deal with nasty checkout people who don’t want to do this for you or with people behind you hemming and hawing? What do you do about this. I was on food stamps for about a year after my divorce and used coupons during that time to make the food stamps go further and especially the younger clerks would visibly get annoyed. Can you give me an idea of what experiences you have had with this if any? Thanks

Hi Dawn,
First I try to pick the friendliest looking cashier, and I go out of my way to be friendly to them too. If I’m at Walgreens, I check out at Beauty when possible. They don’t get as many people in line and tend to be a bit more patient.

As far as annoying other shoppers, if I have people behind me I do a transaction and then get back line in for the next transaction. I willing to take that extra time to save money, but I don’t want everyone to have to wait behind me while I do three or four transactions.

With all that said, sometimes you are going to get someone unpleasant, coupons or no coupons. When that happens I follow grandmas advice and kill’em with kindness. ;)

Hope that helps,

Brittany
